Here’s the deal: I watch a ton of San Francisco Giants baseball, and I think all the good-pitch/no-hit stuff about them is overwrought and overstated. The Giants will finally win the NL West this year, on the backs of amazing pitching (breakout year for Matt Cain coming) and surprising hitting rebounds from multiple players and a rookie or two. My Giants won’t be able to hack it in the playoffs vs. the superior Braves, Phillies or Cardinals, but I’ll take a division this year and maybe a World Series in 2011. Unfortunately the New York Yankees are unstoppable, and will beat my sleeper pick the Atlanta Braves in the World Series this year. I prefer it not to be so, but at least it’s not the Dodgers, right?

If The Yankees beat The Angels in the playoffs again this year, I'm going on a nationwide killing spree.
Just sayin'.
Love to catch a game with you sometime...
As a Yankees fan, I endorse this post

There is no way the Braves will beat out Philadelphia for the NL East. The Phillies have shown the past two seasons to be able to stay healthy, score a ton of runs, and pitch effectively when it matters. How a team that has gone to back-to-back WS still gets no respect is beyond me.
I'll go out on a limb here and predict that the cubs won't win it all.
Any team but the Dodgers.
I agree with your Twins pick to win the Central division, and would love to see a Twins/Boston match up in the playoffs. With Mauer, Thome, Morneau, Kubel, Young and Cuddyer at the plate, a solid rotation, and momentum fueled by the excitement of a brand new outdoor stadium this year (I got season tix!) the Twins could be serious contenders to go far this year.
